St. Paul Saints News Release
ST. PAUL, MN - The St. Paul Saints have employed team president Mike Veeck's "Fun is Good" philosophy since the club's 1992 inception. Veeck will present this simple, no-fail formula for business success at the first-ever "Fun is Good One Day Veeck Seminar" presented by TDS Metrocom, Thursday, January 25 at Embassy Suites Hotel in downtown St. Paul.
The seminar, unique in its content, will focus on techniques to create a fun and prosperous work environment. Universally applicable for small and large businesses, Veeck and fellow speakers will connect a fun work environment to increased productivity, employee retention and overall customer service.
"Mike Veeck sets the tone for our organization from the standpoint of fun in the workplace," said Derek Sharrer, Saints executive vice president and general manager. "Whether it's a CEO or entry-level employee attending this seminar, they'll quickly realize that the fun is good philosophy can translate to any other environment."
Veeck is the author of "Fun is Good: How to Create Joy and Passion in Your Workplace and Career" (Rodale, 2005). The book has earned acclaim in the sports, business and educational world as an innovative approach to the operation of a business. He was recently named by Baseball America as one of the 25 most influential men in the sport over the past 25 years.
Guest speakers include Gary Kunath, president of the Summit Group, and former stand-up comic Al Fahden. Kunath is an influential speaker and author who has helped large and small companies achieve significant sales through his methodologies. Fahden has spent more than two decades working with fortune 500 businesses to increase sales efficiency and morale.
The cost to attend is $129 per person, and the full-day seminar includes continental breakfast and networking, a "Fun is Good" gift bag and lunch. To register, contact the Saints at 651-644-6659 or visit saintsbaseball.com.
The event comes on the heels of a sold-out Fun is Good Seminar in Charleston, SC in October 2006, and several successful national promotional seminars in previous years. The Veeck promotional seminar, regarded as one of the top gatherings of sports executives and employees, is scheduled to return in November 2007 in St. Petersburg, FL.
