Miami, FL â The Miami Morays are pleased to announce their inclusion into the National Indoor Football League for the 2005 season. The Morays have scheduled a press conference for 11:00am on Nov 23rd at the Miami Arena. The Miami Arena is located at 701 Arena Blvd in downtown Miami and media can enter through the North entrance.
Former Miami Dolphin star and owner of the Miami Morays, Oronde Gadsden, will be on hand to unveil the team colors, uniforms, and introduce the first head coach in franchise history.
"I am excited for the opportunity to be the owner of a National Indoor Football League team coming to the Miami Arena. I think with my contacts in the football world and the players I want to bring to the team, I think we can field an exciting and brand new product that everyone can be proud of, and ultimately bring a winning football team to Miami." Oronde Gadsden said.
The Miami Morays will play in the National Indoor Football League, entering its fifth season with 32 teams located across the United States. The NIFL provides players with an opportunity to develop their skills and continue their careers in professional football.
Florida will be home to four new NIFL teams located in Lakeland, Kissimmee, Daytona Beach and Miami, providing natural geographical rivalries, as well as draw from the vast pool of football talent available in the state.
"With the league expanding into markets such as Florida, the Miami franchise will be one of the crown franchises in the league, it will be a definite focus of our energy to ensure that the Miami Morays becomes a success." League President Carolyn Shiver said.
