Fort Lauderdale Strikers News Release

MIAMI, July 23, 2009 - Miami FC will visit the Minnesota Thunder and the Carolina RailHawks this weekend for a two-game road trip. The Blues will first travel to National Sports Center in Blaine, Minnesota to face the 10th place Minnesota Thunder Friday night. Soon after, the team will head to North Carolina, where they will face the always intimidating 4th place, Carolina RailHawks, in WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. Miami will return to South Florida on August 1 to play the Montreal Impact at FIU Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 pm.

Miami has gone without a loss six out of the last eight games, not to mention they won two out of their last three road games. The team has found its form in large part to the players' performances as a unit. Captain John Pulido thinks the team has found the right chemistry.

"We feel more comfortable with each other on the pitch," said Pulido. "We know where our team mates are going to be, and that gives us a sense of confidence. We can't wait to show how good we can be. Last game was a tough loss to swallow, but I know we can bounce back and get some points on the road."

The Minnesota Thunder has earned six consecutive home points. The first three points came when they beat the Montreal Impact 3-0, and then when they beat the Austin Aztex with a great strike by Rod Dyachenko. The Thunder gained even more momentum this week, beating the champion of the Guatemalan League, CSD Comunicaciones 2-0 on Wednesday night. The Blues drew the last time they went to the National Sports Center. Although Miami played well, they could not find the back of the net, leaving Minnesota with one point, after a 0-0 draw.

The Railhawks on the other hand, are near the top of the leader board and find themselves in fourth place. They have only played two games in July. The team won an arduous road game at Blackbaud Stadium, beating the Charleston Battery 1-0. Recently, they beat the 2009 USL-1 Champions, Vancouver Whitecaps, 2-1 at WakeMed Soccer Park. The Blues lost their only match of the season against the Railhawks, 2-0 at Lockhart Stadium on May 20.

Miami FC will return home on Aug 1st to face Montreal Impact at FIU Stadium. For more information or tickets please visit www.miamifc.com .
