Fort Lauderdale Strikers News Release
MIAMI, February 28, 2007 - Miami FC, the only professional soccer team in Florida, announced today that it will kick-off the 2007 pre-season practices at Tropical Park Stadium tomorrow, Thursday, March 1, 2007, at 9 AM. The first two days of preparation will be dedicated to medical and psychological evaluations of the players.
"The pre-season is an excellent opportunity to further analyze the players who already signed with Miami FC and also the ones chosen at the tryouts, especially the latter. This will help me decide the final roster for the 2007 season and will also give me a good idea of which will be the 11 players that will start the game on April 15", said Chiquinho de Assis, Head Coach for Miami FC.
As part of training, before the regular season begins on Sunday, April 15, against the Virginia Beach Mariners, Miami FC will play the following scrimmage/friendly games:

On April 21, Miami FC will play a friendly match against Club Deportivo Olimpia, from Honduras. The team is one of the most popular soccer clubs in Honduras and the game should attract a good crowd to Tropical Park Stadium.
"Miami FC had an opening on its regular season schedule, so when the chance to play Olimpia from Honduras was presented, we had no doubts in going ahead with it. We will be playing against a strong opponent, and also will give thousands of Hondurans who live in South Florida the opportunity to see CD Olimpia playing against Miami FC - in similar fashion to what the Guatemalan community experienced last year, when Miami FC played against CSD Municipal from Guatemala", declared Luiz Muzzi, General Manager for Miami FC.
