
Memphis Survives Amarillo Rally, Move to 6-1

Southaven, MS- the Memphis Xplorers of the af2 survived a late rally by the Amarillo Dusters to gain a 46-40 victory. Memphis moved to 6-1 on the season, while the Dusters dropped to 4-2.
The Xplorers nearly blew a 27 point lead over the Duster, as Amarillo cut it to 6 points late in fourth quarter. WR/LB Ryan Karr recovered an onside kick in the closing seconds, allowing Memphis to run out the clock and get the win.
Kevin Prentiss earned the offensive MVP award with 12 catches for 122 yards and three touchdowns. The Army Ironman award went to Terrell Adams, who caught three passes for 73 yards and one touchdown. Phillip Perry sacked Dusters quarterback Julian Reese, and blocked a Jeremy Hershey kick on the very next play, and was named the ADT Defensive player of the game.
The Xplorers will travel to Albany next Saturday to face the Conquest. Game time is schedule for 6:30 CST. The next home game is June 11th against the Quad City Steamwheelers.
