ROUND ROCK - The Memphis (68-60) pitching didn't get any easier to figure out for the Express Sunday night, as the Redbirds cruised to a 6-1 win over Round Rock (55-74).

Memphis starter Oneli Perez was tough all night, allowing just one run on seven hits with six strikeouts, earning his third win of the season for the Redbirds.

Express starter Polin Trinidad wasn't quite as sharp, allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks with three strikeouts, earning his fourth loss of the season.

Round Rock second baseman Jose Vallejo led the team with two doubles and a run scored.

For the second night in a row, neither Aaron Boone (Express) nor Troy Glaus (Memphis) did much damage in their rehab starts for their respective big league clubs. Boone was 0-for-2 and Glaus was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

The Redbirds struck first in the top of the third inning, as Tyler Greene singled to center field with one out. Greene moved to second on a balk by Trinidad, Jarrett Hoffpauir walked and Nick Stavinoha singled through the hole at second base to bring Greene home for a 1-0 lead.

Vallejo made his presence felt in just his second game since joining the Express after being traded by Texas to Houston as part of the Ivan Rodriguez trade on Aug. 18, ripping a double to left field to lead off the bottom of the third inning. Brian Esposito wasted no time, hitting a single to left field to bring Vallejo home to tie the game 1-1.

Memphis took the lead for the final time in the sixth inning when David Freese hit a rocket solo home run into the walkway wall on the second level of the home run porch in left field.

The Redbirds added two more runs in the seventh inning, and its started with a leadoff triple by Shane Robinson to left-center field. A sacrifice fly by Perez to deep left-center field brought Robinson home to make it 3-1, Memphis.

Greene followed with a double, stole third base and scored on a double by Hoffpauir to gain a three-run edge. Memphis would tack on two more runs in the top of the ninth inning, snapping a scoreless streak by Express reliever Chad Paronto that dated back to May 25.

The two teams meet again Monday night at 7:05 p.m. at Dell Diamond, with right-hander Erick Abreu taking the hill for Round Rock and left-hander Jaime Garcia taking the mound for Memphis.
