Meet the Buffalo Rapids

Broadcast consultants Sara and Gary D. Nice have fulfilled a lifelong dream of ownership of a professional sports team with the acquisition of the Buffalo Rapids that will begin play in the American Basketball Association in November. Avid sports fans and with a very strong background in marketing, the Nices feel that they can make their team into one of the premiere operations in the ABA. The team will play in the Flickinger Center, a 3000 seat arena in downtown Buffalo, New York.

Richard L. Jacob, formerly Athletic Director at Medialle College will serve as the General Manager and Head Coach.

According to Sara Nice, "We have handpicked a lot of our talent from the area, not just on the court, but off as well. This year, we will also have a 7'1" power center from Egypt playing for us. We are a community minded team that has created a Caring for Kids Program that will benefit kids from Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Camp Good Days, Boys and Girls Club, Roswell Park Cancer Hospital, Kids Escaping Drugs, MS Society and Baby Joe Mesi's Fight for Organ Donors."
