
Meeking's 28 points lead Altitude to 113-92 win over Patriots

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Antonio Meeking?s 28 points led the Altitude in a 113-82 win over the Patriots, spoiling the Patriots home opener. Five other Altitude players were in double figures, including Lenny Stokes and Tony Kitchings with 15 points and 14 points, respectively. Â The Altitude jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter. It was all Meeking early on with 10 points in the quarter to give Asheville a 33-20 lead at the break. The Patriots cut the lead to ten points at the half, 52-42, with a strong effort from rookie David Young. Young led Fayetteville going into the half with 11 points. Â Returning point guard Omar Cook scored 18 points for the Patriots and dished out 14 assists. He and Asheville's Tony Kitchings were in the only two players with double-doubles for the game. Behind Meeking's game-high 28 points, David Young was the Patriots leading scorer with 20 points. Young was in double figures last night in the Patriots loss at Roanoke with 21. Â Steve Ross, Jon Smith and Ousmane Cisse were the other Patriots that scored in double figures. They had 15, 13, and 10 points, respectively. Â The Patriots (0-2) return to action Monday, November 22 at the Columbus Civic Center against the Columbus Riverdragons (1-0) at 7:00 p.m. The Altitude return home to face the Huntsville Flight tomorrow at the Asheville Civic Center.
