Tulsa Shock News Release
TULSA, Okla. (February 22, 2012) - Volt will join the best basketball players in the world in Orlando, Fla., this weekend for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game festivities.
"We as an organization are extremely proud and excited to have Volt represent the Tulsa Shock at the 2012 NBA All-Star Game," President Steve Swetoha said. "We feel he is the best mascot in the WNBA and I'm confident that he will excel on the national stage."
Volt was introduced as the Shock mascot on May 8, 2010 and has since participated in every Shock home game while becoming the star of the Shock Assembly Program presented by American Fidelity Assurance and Williams.
The 45-minute assembly is a fun, entertaining and interactive presentation featuring Volt and professional basketball clinicians from the Shock Basketball Academy who showcase simple and fun basketball exercises that can help individuals stay fit.
Volt has performed 42 assemblies during the past two school years in Tulsa while making an additional 125 appearances at Tulsa area community events.
During NBA All-Star Weekend, Volt will participate in clinics with current and former WNBA players while attending Jam Session - an interactive opportunity to collect free autographs from NBA Players and Legends while participating in basketball activities.
