Medford, Oregon - On a cloudy and windy day at Harry and David Field, the Medford Rogues and the Portland Pickles faced off in game one of the upcoming weekend series. Despite an early 2-0 lead, the Rogues were unable to complete the comeback and fell to the Pickles, 4-3. The Rogues' record now sits at 17-10 and the Pickles improve their record 15- 12.

The Rogues got off to an early 2-0 after the second inning, courtesy of a solo homerun by Braden Stutzman. The Pickles took a 3-2 lead over the Rogues after a three-run fourth inning. The Rogues then tied the game in the sixth with another run by Stutzman, after he was brought home in a bases loaded walk. The Pickles then plated the winning run of the game in the eighth inning, scored by Marcus Doi.

Andrew Crowson earned his fourth start of the season for the Rogues. He threw 4 innings, gave up 3 runs on 6 hits, and struck out 1 and walked 1 batter. Crowson's ERA now sits at 2.46. Tristan Duncan came in relief and pitched 4 innings, gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He struck out 4 and walked 1 batter now with a 4.26 ERA. C.J. Eytel pitched the 9th inning, and struck out 1, giving up no hits and no runs.

At the plate, Braden Stutzman had a standout night. Stutzmn went three-for-four with 2 runs, 1 RBI and a homerun. Stutzman pulls his batting average up to .200. Spencer Steer went one-for-two with one RBI and a .333 batting average. The Rogues and Pickles face off again tomorrow night at Walker Stadium in Portland for a doubleheader. The first game is slated to start at 5:05pm and the second at 7:05pm. Both teams travel back to Medford to wrap up the series on Saturday in Medford at 6:35pm. Saturday is Military Appreciation Night and all military members will receive a free bleacher ticket with their military ID. The players will also be wearing special edition camo jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game and the proceeds will go to benefit military support charities.
