Medford Takes Game Two over Sacramento

Medford, Oregon - The Medford Rogues and Sacramento Stealth faced off in game two at Harry and David Field and despite trailing 2-0 in the second, the Rogues were able to come back and beat the Stealth, 8-4. The Rogues now sit with an overall record of 21-11 and the Stealth falls to 4-20. The Rogues scoring started in the second inning after the Stealth jumped to a 2-0 lead. Johnny DeLaCruz scored off an RBI single by Chad Bell and then Bell tied the game, 2-2 after crossed the off an RBI by Derron Davis. Medford scored again in the fifth with an RBI single by Cam Russ. Leading 3-2, the Rogues scored two more insurance runs in the sixth when Brock Pradere stole home and then Braden Stutzman scored off an RBI by Spencer Steer. Sacramento answered in the seventh with two runs of their own, with a leadoff double by Dominic Bethancourt and a walk by Nico Toni. With a 5-4 ballgame, Medford plated four runs in the eighth off of two hits and four stolen bases, two of which by Brock Pradere. The Rogues held on to take game two over the Stealth, 8-4. Dylan Pearce earned the start for the Rogues, going six innings and giving up 4 runs on 6 hits. He struck out three and walked two batter. Pearce earned the win for Medford now with a 2-0 record. Tristain Duncan came in relief for Pearce and pitched the final three innings giving up no runs on no hits, with 2 strikeouts. At the plate, Brock Pradere went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, two of which were home plate. Pradere now holds the franchise record for most stolen bases in a season with 15. Cam Russ went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, a run and stolen base. Johnny DeLaCruz was also strong at the plate, going 3-for-5 with an RBI, a run scored and stolen base. The Rogues also set a team record for most stolen bases in a season with 77. The Rogues and Stealth face off again tomorrow night at 7:05pm for the series conclusion. It is Petro $2 Tuesday which means that all bleacher tickets will be $2, courtesy of Petro.
