Vantaa, FIN - Canadian hockey history was made at the Quarter Finals of the World U18 Championships as Tigers Rookie of the Year & Co-MVP Gavin McKenna scored his 15th point of the tournament tying Tyson Jost's record at the tournament as he now has five goals and ten assists in now five games played in Finland.
On Maxim Masse's goal in the first period, McKenna tied the U18's record, recently held by Tyson Jost at 5:08.
McKenna and the Canadians would take a 2-0 lead to the first intermission as WHLers Tij Iginla & Ryder Ritchie would find the scoresheet. Porter Martone would have an empty net marker.
Canada will have an off-day Friday before the Medal Round on Saturday as Canada will take on Sweden, as the Red & White will face them for a second time in the tournament.
Game time is TBD and will be broadcasted on TSN.
