Orlando Predators News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. -- When the Orlando Predators meet the San Jose Sabercats on Sunday's 12 noon nationally televised game at the TD Waterhouse Centre, it will be an emotional day for defensive specialist and team captain Kenny McEntyre.
On Friday, McEntyre's father passed away. Mr. Frank McEntyre, 53, of Dallas, Texas had some heath problems of late before suffering a fatal stroke on Friday morning.
"We left the decision up to Kenny and he decided to stay and play," Orlando Predators Head Coach Jay Gruden said. "Obviously it is going to be a difficult day for him. Our hearts and prayers go out to Kenny and his family."
"Kenny has been the heart and soul of our defense for so long," quarterback Joe Hamilton said. "All we can really do is let him know how much we love him and be there for him."
McEntyre, a five-time first team All-Arena selection and three-time AFL Defensive Player of the Year, will depart for Dallas immediately after the game on Sunday.
