McDonald Resigns as Head Coach

INDIANAPOLIS- After posting a disappointing record throughout the first half of the 2003 season, Jimmy McDonald has stepped down as Head Coach of the Indiana Blast. Assistant coach Mike Sanich will take over the head coaching responsibilities on an interim basis. Sanich will lead the Blast into Minnesota and Milwaukee for a two game road trip this weekend.
"Jimmy has done an exceptional job with this organization over the years", said Kim Morris, president of MorSports, Inc. "However, he feels that a change in coaching chemistry is what is needed to get this team back on track."
Although McDonald will not be visible on the front line, he will still remain an important part of the organization and will continue to support the Blast's efforts in the community.
Throughout McDonald's time as Head Coach of the Blast, he compiled a record of 47-54-5 including two D3 North Central division titles in 1997 and 1998.
NEXT HOME GAME- The Blast will be at home against the Cincinnati Riverhawks on Wednesday, July 2nd at 7:35pm. It's "Christian Night" at the Blast game. Come out early and enjoy a pre-game concert by David Michael Carrillo. Gates will open at 6:00pm.
TOURNAMENTS-The Blast's 4-on-4 tournaments are filling up fast. The MidSummer Magic youth tournament and the brand NEW Some Like It HOT adult tournament are right around the corner and registration deadlines are approaching quickly. Due to many requests, the MidSummer Magic Deadline has been changed. All registrations must be postmarked by June 30th. The registration deadline for the NEW Some Like It HOT tournament is July 5th.
