McCoy Plates Four as Cutters Edge Black Bears

James McCoy's four-RBI performance lifted the Crosscutters to a 9-7, come- from-behind win over West Virginia on Wednesday night.

McCoy paced the Cutters offense with his fourth three-hit game, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and four runs batted in. Nicholas Romano drove in two runs, finishing the night 2-for-4. Owen Prince drew three walks and stole four bases, including a steal of 2nd, 3rd and home in the 8th inning. Prince scored three runs and drove in another.

Jale Zitella plated a run in the 7th inning.

Ryker Walton had a rough outing, allowing four runs on nine hits over three innings of work in a no decision.

Matthew Mariano delt three scoreless frames, striking out two. Bobby Helt earned the win, his first, despite allowing two runs. Helt struck out three in his two innings. Joel Tornero allowed a run on two hits in the 9th, but successfully closed out the win to earn his 2nd save.

Williamsport used a five-run 7th inning to take their first lead. James McCoy drove in two with a double. Nicholas Romano singled in a pair and Jake Zitella drove in the final run of the frame.

Owen Prince tied Chris Stanfield's single-game high with four stolen bases, picking up his fourth theft on a steal of home. The Cutters have stolen 169 bases, one shy of their franchise record of 170.
