
McAllen Thunder Finalizes Staff

McAllen Thunder News Release
The first year field staff of the McAllen Thunder has been announced. Field Manager Matt Stark will have four coaches assisting him during the Thunder's inaugural season. Lupe Salinas along time Rio Grande Valley resident has been named the pitching coach. Lupe had a 13 year playing career and was a college All-American at the University of Texas at Pan-American in 1972. Stark named Phil Nicoletti as his bench coach. Phil has coaching stints in Atlantic City (2008) and El Paso (2009). Phil will add some scouting experience to the staff as he currently is an Associate Scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Stark will also use the services of the most famous batting practice pitcher Mike Moseley. Moseley has a Guinness Book of World Record having thrown 6,400 hittable strikes within a nine hour period of time. Moseley's most recent coaching stint was in Atlantic City in 2008. Stark's staff is completed with Spring Training instructor Chris Sanchez. Sanchez will assist in several different areas. Chris had a brief stint managing in the Continental Baseball League (Amateur) in 2010.
