Maywood Buzz News Release
Porter Ranch, CA. The ABA Maywood Buzz finished the 2007-2008 season 4-27, got a nice start today in their debut game in the West Coast Pro Basketball League. The Buzz were led by Ramel "Rock" Lloyd's 25 points and Adam Zahn's 20 points and 8 rebounds in the opening game. "It was great to get back on thbe court after finishing the ABA season on a real low," stated Buzz GM and Head Coach Burrel Lee III. "We have been given a chance to continue play since the ABA season is over and when Curt Pickering came to me asked if we would like to play, we couldn't pass up the chance to lace them up and get the Buzz back where they should be."
"This is an excellent spring league and it gives us a chance to continued play and get the players ready for summer leagues and to stay in shape with a chance to get more video and stats and add to their resumes," added Lee.
An announcement will be made soon with home and road schedules prior to the WCPBL Tournament in Santa Barbara on June 20-22. For more information, visit www.buzzbasketball.com or www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
