Maywood Buzz Of To Las Vegas For National Pro-Am Tournament

MAYWOOD, CA - The Maywood Buzz and friends will be traveling this week to play in beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada to play in the 2008 National Pro-Am Tournament. "This is pretty big for us to have a chance to go and compete against some of the best pro-am basketball teams from around the county" stated Buzz GM Burrel Lee III. There are teams from Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Atlanta and other cities are the United States. The Buzz will fill a team of players from the ABA's West Coast Conference with such players as Darwin Carter (Buzz), Kenny Wright (LB Breakers), Allen Purnell (LB Breakers/Buzz), Cardell Butler (SD Wildcats), John Clark (SD Wildcats) and Jerome Habel (SD Wildcats).
"These guys are great friends of mine both on and off the court and when the chance to put them together came we jumped at this chance.
This roster will have 4 players who played in the 2008 ABA All-Star game in Vermont and 5 players who played in the ABA Championship Game last week.
There are many ex-NBA players in this event also, with such players as Bryon Russell, Tracy Murray just to name a few. "This shall be a great kick off to the Buzz for the start of the Spring/Summer Season. With the winner of this event getting $8,000 and 2nd place getting $5,000, it should be a wonderful and competitive tournament" added Lee.
