Maywood Buzz News Release
Maywood, CA - The Maywood Buzz and General Manager Burrel Lee III announced today that they have added 6'8 Forward Jamal Kendrick for the upcoming 2008-2009 ABA season. Kendrick who resides in San Diego, CA is from Detroit, Michigan. He has played overseas, in the CBA, ABA, USBL and even been in a few NBA Camps in the past. Kendrick has been with NBA teams Dallas and Seattle in their camps. Last season he lead the San Diego Wildcats to the ABA Finals before losing 87-84 to the Vermont Frostheaves.
Kendrick is happy to be teaming up with 2007-2008 All-ABA Guards Darwin Carter and Ken Wright, both who was ABA All-Stars last year. "Burrel and I have been talking all summer and when I made the move to Maywood, it was because of the Championship caliber team that he is putting together. I feel with myself, Darwin, Ken and the others, we are on the verge of that championship game. Losing last season left a bad taste in my mouth and I am itching for one more shot at a professional title" said Kendrick.
Lee added "this is a blessing to have 3 former All-ABA Team members on the roster this season. We also have a few others that we will be announcing soon. But adding Jamal was key to this and if we add a few more pieces we feel that the LA Lakers wont be the only team in SoCal contending for a championship this season."
