Sussex 5, North Shore 4 (Completion of Suspended Game from 5/30)

LF Darin Kinsolving's RBI single in the ninth inning broke a 4-4 tie and lifted the Skyhawks past the Spirit in the completion of the suspended game from yesterday. Sussex would go out to an early 4-0 lead after three innings. However, North Shore would come back with one run in the fourth inning, one run in the sixth inning, and two more in the eighth inning to nod it at 4-4. That tie would not last for long as the Skyhawks scored the winning run in the ninth on the hit by Kinsolving. The man at the plate this afternoon for Sussex was 3B Elvis Corporan who was 3-for-4 with one run scored and two runs driven in. Skyhawks' relief pitcher Alex Smith picked up his first victory on the season going two innings giving up two runs on two hits with three strikeouts.

Can-Am League Pitcher of the Week Ryan Bicondoa was truly outstanding in leading the Spirit to a win over the Skyhawks and a split in the doubleheader. Bicondoa pitched a complete game shutout giving up only four hits while striking out ten. B.J. Weed was the offensive power for the Spirit as he went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two runs driven in. David Campos picked up his first loss of the season for Sussex going 4 1/3 innings giving up all four runs and three hits with five strikeouts.

A strong pitching performance in relief by Elvis Jimenez and 3B Zack Strong's RBI single in the sixth inning was the difference in the Tornadoes beating the Cutters in front of a school day crowd of 4,137. Jimenez pitched four solid innings giving up one run on six hits while striking out two. LF Josh Beauregard was the leader at the plate for Worcester going 1-for-3 with two runs scored. New Haven County starting pitcher Courtney Hall took the tough luck loss going five innings giving up two runs on two hits with six strikeouts.
