Mavericks Win Over Blues

Southeast Texas Mavericks News Release


The Mavericks opened the game on a 12-0 run and never looked back. SETX led by as many as 20 points on two occasions and fought off a fast-paced Blues run in the 4th quarter to take their league leading 13th win of the season on Wednesday night at Gulfport High School in Gulfport, MS. As has been all season the deep Mavericks bench took its toll on the Blues! Showing depth and power with athleticism the SETX Mavericks won in a most difficult place and atmosphere to play. The Mississippi Blues played their best game against the Mavericks in the last two seasons and are a much improved team led by Daniel Price. MAVS SCORERS: The Mavs were led by Jermaine Blackburn's 25 points. Mavericks center Big Jon Rogers played his best game in a Mavericks uniforms with a 24 point & 25 rebound performance. Herman Favors followed up with 22 points & 12 assist. The Blues were led by Price's 18 points.

MAVS SUPERLATIVES:

The Mavericks are now 15-2 on the road over the past two season and posted their 4th win on the road this season. Jon Rogers is averaging 12.5 ppg, 14. 6 rpg, and 6 bl. shots per game on the season.

MAVS NEXT GAME:

The Mavericks will travel to Houston, TX on Saturday night to face the Houston Takers. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:15 PM.
