Mavericks Stampede Over Stallions

December 12, 2010 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Southeast Texas Mavericks News Release

The #1 ranked SETX Mavericks (7-0) defeated the #5 ranked Oklahoma Stallions (3-1) in dominating fashion on Saturday night in front of a loud crowd at their Nutty Jerry's Entertainment Center (NJEC) 133-72.

The Mavericks trailed once in the game 3-2 and when Jermaine Blackburn put the Mavericks ahead on a 3 point field goal SETX never looked back as they rolled to their 7th victory on the season thus far.

Oklahoma came into the game with an undefeated record and was coming off a big victory over St. Louis that had vaulted them up the National Power Rankings. But the Mavericks depth and experience hurt the Stallions! The Mavericks defensive pressure bothered them all night.

DeSean White led five players in double figures for the Mavericks with 21 points. Currye Todd, Odell Bradley, and Lamar Sanders followed up with 16 points. Kenny Dawkins chipped in 13 points and 7 assist respectively. Mario Kinsey scored 18 to lead the Stallions in scoring. Andre Valentine followed up with 13 points.

The Mavericks will play their first back to back games this season as they travel to Lafayette, LA on Sunday to play Louisiana United. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
