December 2, 2009 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Southeast Texas Mavericks News Release
Beaumont, TX. The Southeast Texas Mavericks have signed one of the top players not playing in the NBA in Jermaine Blackburn (6'7 guard/forward). Blackburn is a former CBA All-Star and has played in the NBA-D League as well as abroad in his young professional basketball career.
Blackburn is the only player to record a quadruple double in CBA history with a 22 point, 10 rebound, 14 assist, and 10 steals performance during the 2008-09 season with the East Kentucky Miners. He also recorded 4 triple doubles during the 08-09 season.
Mavericks General Manager/Head Coach Steve Tucker is elated to have Blackburn joining his SETX Mavericks. "We are really fortunate to have been able to bring Jermaine in to play for the Mavericks. He will obviously be a big part of our team." Blackburn will be working out with the Mavericks this week and will make his debut in the near future. The Mavericks will host the Texas Fuel this Thursday night at the Ford Arena in Beaumont, TX. Tip-off is scheduled for 730pm.
