
Mavericks Gold Beats Red in Mavericks Gold/Red Game

Southeast Texas Mavericks News Release
The Southeast Texas Mavericks played their annual Gold/Red Game last night at the LL Melton Center in Beaumont, TX. All proceeds from the game went to help with the development and operations of the Center.
Alex Sanders paced the winning Gold with 24 points. Former Lamar University standouts Lamar Sanders added a 21 point/ 16 rebound effort and Kenny Dawkins dished out 14 assist while scoring 12 points on the night. The Red team was led in scoring by Gus Chase's 23 points. Currye Todd added 19 points for the Red.
"Both teams played extremely hard! We have some difficult decisions to make on our roster. These are good problems to have, but they don't lessen the difficulty of cutting good players" stated Mavericks head coach Steve Tucker.
The Defending ABA National Champions open up play next Thursday night as they host the Texas Hurricanes at their new home the NJEC Arena in Winnie, TX. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
