The Southeast Texas Mavericks (22-3) took on the Texas Drillers at Ford Arena on Tuesday night. The Mavericks opened up quickly and scored often to take their 22nd win on the season (11 straight wins). Again Mavericks "Bookend Wings" Josh Pace and Jermaine Blackburn led the way with their scoring and defense to set the tone and pace of the game for the Mavs. Mavericks point guard Herman Favors also got into the act with his ball handling and pin point passing. Favors dished out 8 assist on the night to his Mavericks teammates.

The Mavs cruised to a 30 point lead in the first half on its way to 73-41 lead at the halftime break. In the second half the Mavericks bench led by Kenny Dawkins, Donnie Jackson, Mike Crain, Anthony Lumpkin, and Game MVP Lamar Sanders continued the Mavericks assault on the Drillers. SETX continued its consistent play on ball ends of the court throughout the game as they finished off a 153-99 victory. MAVS SCORERS: The SETX Mavericks again placed 7 players in double figures. Jermaine Blackburn scored 26 points to lead the Mavs. Lamar Sanders scored a season high 18 points. Kenny Dawkins and Mike Crain each scored 17 points. Anthony Lumpkin and Josh Pace each chipped in 13 points respectively. Jon Rogers finished out the double figure scoring for the Mavericks with 12 points. The Drillers were led by Trey McDowell's game high 29 points and Triston Redmon's 16 points. MAVS SUPERLATIVES:

* The SETX Mavericks have an All-Time Record of 33-2 at Ford Arena in two seasons. * The Mavericks have now won 11 straight games. * The Mavs have a record of 49-5 in two seasons in the ABA. MAVS NEXT GAME:

The Mavericks will host the Arlington Bulldogs on Saturday night, March 6th at Ford Arena to close out the regular season of play. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.

NOTE: The SETX Mavericks will host it's first ABA Playoff Game on Monday, March 15th at the Parker Multipurpose Center on the campus of Lamar State College, Port Arthur, TX. Game time will be at 7:30 PM.
