The Danbury Whalers are proud to announce that Forward Matt Caranci has signed an agreement with the team for the 2013-14 hockey season.
Caranci a native of Toronto, Ontario, returns to the Whalers after playing in 96 games for club over the last three seasons. Caranci's is third in Whalers history in games played with 96 and 4th in points (66). During the Whalers championship run Caranci had 10 points and was +8 in five playoff games.

Opening Night Danbury This Saturday - Nov 2nd
4th Season for the Champs!!!!
The Federal Hockey League Champion Danbury Whalers are getting ready to drop the puck in the 4th season of Federal Hockey League action this Saturday, November 2nd against the Watertown Privateers.
Gametime is set for 7:35 PM.
As part of the Opening Night festivities the Danbury Whalers will be auctioning off their official game worn jersey's that night. Fans can place a bid a take home a part of the game that night complete with a player autograph. The Whalers will be wearing white for this contest.
Pregame ceremonies will include the unveiling of the 2012-13 Danbury Whalers Championship Banner. No word on yet if the Captain of that squad, Ed Campbell, will be in attendance.
In honoring a long standing Danbury Hockey tradition, The Star Spangled Banner will be performed by Section 102.
There will be a fundraising program for Danbury Family Literacy. Purchase a Chuck A Puck and raffle ticket as a portion of the proceeds go to their organization.
Be sure to eat at Two Steps Downtown Grille before the game. Try the Big Juicy Danbury Whalers Burger - It's fantastic.
Park in the Patriot Garage across the street from the Danbury Ice Arena. It's safe, secure, and legal. Make sure the only ticket you get is to the game.
While at the game stop in to The Cookhouse Penalty Box Lounge for a Pulled Pork Sandwich.
After the game, stop by TK's American Caf̮̩ on White Street in Danbury, for the post-game party. Meet the players coaches, staff, and management. It's going to be a great time.
