LANSING, Mich. - The weather was hot and humid, and Lansing Ignite FC was on fire during its match against South Georgia Tormenta FC on Saturday at Cooley Law School Stadium, but the two teams settled for yet another tie, the third between the two in the 2019 USL League One regular season.

The club extended its unbeaten record to 12 games with a 1-1 draw against Tormenta FC in front of 2,489 fans, with Nick Moon scoring LIFC's only goal of the night.

"We want to win every game, that's for sure, especially at home, but the performance was very good," LIFC Head Coach Nate Miller said. "We've been scoring those chances. In football, sometimes this happens, and you can't overreact. We made some mistakes and weren't perfect, but I'm happy with the players. I'm happy with the effort. I'm happy with everything they did.

"I also have to give a lot of credit to Tormenta. I think that they played really well, and I think John's a very good coach, and the team is strong."

Moon got the ball rolling in the seventh minute with a quick pass to Tumi Moshobane, but Moshobane was a few inches short, and it rolled to the right of the goal post.

Tormenta put Stefan Cleveland to work, with a shot on goal by Shinya Kadono in the 25th that forced Cleveland to slide in front of the ball in order to block the shot. Tormenta tried again 14 minutes later with an attempt by Charlie Dennis to the left of the goal post. It was a close shot, but Cleveland dove in front of the ball and deflected the shot using his left hand.

With one minute of stoppage time added to the clock in the first half, Moon took advantage of LIFC's possession of the ball when Kevin Coiffic kicked a long ball from the half-line to Moon, who settled the ball and caught Jara off guard when he struck quickly.

LIFC nearly took the lead in the 51st minute, when Nfor passed the ball from the right side of the field to Pato Botello-Faz, who tried to head it in, but he had too much force and sent it over the crossbar.

Tormenta FC tied it up in the 67th minute with a goal scored by Mikie Rowe, but it wasn't enough to defeat the playoff-bound LIFC.

With a 12-5-10 record and 46 points on the board, LIFC will compete in a friendly match against the Chicago Fire on Sept. 24 before taking on Forward Madison FC in its last match of the regular season from Cooley Law School Stadium on Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. ET.

MAN OF THE MATCH:

NICK MOON: The wingback scored Lansing's only goal of the evening and created four scoring chances. He also recorded three interceptions on the defensive end.
