Match Preview: Fort Lauderdale CF to Host Union Omaha

Fort Lauderdale CF will return home after two road matches for a matchup with Union Omaha Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 8 p.m. ET. The game at Inter Miami CF Stadium will air live on ESPN+.

Fort Lauderdale CF is coming off of a thrilling late victory over FC Tucson at Kino North Complex. The team came from behind to claim a 1-2 victory thanks to a goal and an assist from Eduardo Sosa as well as a goal from Jerome Kiesewetter. The goals, which came in the 87th and 94th minutes, marked the first with the team for both Sosa and Kiesewetter.

Sosa was named to the USL League One Team of the Week for his performance alongside Fort Lauderdale fullback Sami Guediri. The match also marked the first starts for Kiesewetter and midfielder Rivaldo Ibarra for Fort Lauderdale.

Union Omaha currently sits fourth in the USL League One table, accumulating a record of four wins, four draws and three losses to date. In its last match, the team fell to a 0-1 loss to the Richmond Kickers at home. This season, Omaha has been led by forward Ethan Vanacore-Decker who leads the team with two goals and four assists.
