Ottawa Fury FC News Release

OTTAWA - The mood in the dressing room is upbeat. The belief in the system is strong. And this is what Ottawa Fury FC will look to showcase when they take on Nashville SC Friday night. Fury FC are enjoying a good run, with a recent run of 3W-1D-1L that will give them an added boost going into this game.

The Ottawa side have been able to produce these results despite a hectic schedule that will see them play three games in eight days. They are coming off a 1-1 draw against Atlanta United 2. For those interested in quirky statistics, this game took 53 days to finish. The game was suspended mid-way due to bad weather conditions when it was played earlier this year in June.

When the Fury FC players take to the First Tennessee Park stadium for this game, they will be looking to complete a winning double. The first-ever game that took place between these two sides resulted in a 2-0 win for Fury FC at TD Place. It was a memorable win for the home team with both goals being scored in the added time of the second half.

This is also a game between two direct competitors in the playoff battle. With their current strong showing, Fury FC are eighth in the Eastern Conference with 31 points. Nashville have the same number of points but are in ninth on account of having fewer wins than Ottawa. The race for playoffs berths is getting intense and the business end of the season draws near. The teams are closely bunched in the Eastern Conference standings with just 10 points separating Louisville City in 4th from Penn FC in 13th. That's 10 teams within 10 points.

Fury FC will be looking forward to another strong performance against a team that has managed to win just one of their last five games. However, Nashville are coming off a morale-boosting 1-1 draw against Eastern Conference leaders FC Cincinnati - courtesy an 85th minute equalizer.

Looking to continue their progression, Ottawa Fury FC will be keen on a positive result on the road before they return to TD Place for two consecutive home games next week.
