Match Day: Fresno FC at Phoenix Rising FC
April 28, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Fresno FC News Release
MATCH PREVIEW
Fresno FC is seeking its first win in the month of April this weekend when the club visits Phoenix Rising FC on Saturday in Week 7 of the USL Regular Season. It's been a rough month for the Foxes, having been held to draws in its three previous matches, including a 0-0 result against San Antonio FC last week. The struggles have come most noticeably in the final third, where the Foxes, despite producing a third-best 92 shots in the league, have converted just 12.9% of them for goals.
Three points on Saturday on the road would not only extend Fresno's unbeaten streak, but give them their first win in April against a fourth-place Phoenix squad that has conceded just five goals this season.
Midfielder Solomon Asante leads the club with four goals, which holds for second-most in the Western Conference and has 15 chances created in six appearances this season. Asante had a goal and assist, with his strike coming in the 89th minute to grab a point in a 2-2 draw against Swope Park Rangers. The two clubs are separated by only one point, with Phoenix Rising FC holding the upper hand with 11 points for fourth-place in the Western Conference.
