Maryland NightHawks Snatch Mike McGlynn
August 31, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Maryland NightHawks News Release
Upper Marlboro, MD â Maryland NightHawks Owner, Andrew Haines announces the signing of another top-prospect, Mike McGlynn.
Mike McGylnn makes a mark just about everywhere he plays. The 6'3, 180lb point guard is an exceptional three-point shooter and ball handler and he has the stats to prove it.
"He seems to set a standard every place he has played. He's a very good three-point shooter and he reads the game well. I really like how he has previous ABA experience, which means he can lead his teammates and help them adjust to the ABA style," said Haines.
McGlynn split his collegiate career between Brandeis University and Tufts University, leaving both Universities to remember him as the third all time career point total holder, with 1632 points. He was a first team All-Star at both schools, a leading scorer for his two years at Tufts and second leading scorer for both of his years playing at Brandies. McGlynn ranks 17th for all-time career three-pointers in NCAA DIII with 308 made. After wrapping up his collegiate basketball career, McGlynn played for the ABA's Fresno Heat Wave and now joins the Maryland NightHawks to continue his professional basketball career.
"Mike appears to be just what we want to represent the NightHawks organization. His past coaches and mentors have said nothing but great things about his ability to perform, his leadership skills, and his desire to be coached as well as his excellent character," Haines commented.
