
Marshals Get Back on Track with Win

The Texas Marshals snapped a nine-game losing streak on Friday night with a 2-0 shutout win over the Victoria Generals in Victoria. Brandon Texiera picked up the win, allowing just three hits in seven innings with four strikeouts.
The Marshals broke the scoreless tie in the top of the fifth inning on an RBI single by Oliver Christensen scoring Mason Mantle.
The Marshals made it 2-0 in the top of the seventh inning as Mantle singled home Casey Mullennix.
Nick Palacious picked up the save, his first of the season, as allowed just two hits in two innings with two strikeouts.
Mantle and Christensen led the way offensively for the Marshals. Mantle went 3-for-3 with a run, an RBI, and was also hit by a pitch. Christensen went 2-for-5 with an RBI. The Marshals only other hit in the game was a single by Jace Reese.
With the win, the Marshals improve to 4-15 on the season. The Generals fall to 13-6 with the loss. The Marshals travel to Bryan to take on the Brazos Valley Bombers on Saturday night in the first game of a two-game series at Cellucor Field starting at 7:05pm.
