Marshals Announce New Head Coach

Shon King graduated from Patrick Henry High School in San Diego, CA in 1990. He began coaching in 2000/2001 as Varsity Offensive coordinator at Clairemont High School in San Diego. In 2003 he became the freshman wide receiver coach At Norfolk High. King coached Arena Football for the Quad City Steamwheelers from 2007-2009 serving as WR/Special Teams Coach, then Offensive Coordinator and finally becoming the Steamwheelers Head Coach.

In 2011 he was named the Head Coach for the Abilene Ruff Riders. Also, during 2009-2013 and 2019 he coached the Varsity WR/Returners and was Reserve Team Offensive Coordinator at Norfolk Senior High school. Spent the 2014-2015 seasons at Helix Charter High School In San Diego where he served as Varsity WR/Returners Coach and JV Offensive Coordinator. They were the Open Division Runner-Up in 2014 and Open Division Champions 2015.

In 2016 Coach King coached the DB's/Special Teams for the Tri-Cities Fever in the Indoor Football League. Inn 2021 coached briefly with the OMAHA Beef as Offensive Coordinator. In 2023 was named Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator for the Billings Outlaws before accepting the role as Head Coach and leading the team to a 5-1 record and making it to the semifinals.

As a player Shon led the nation in receptions and was named a Junior College All American while at San Diego Mesa College. After one record setting season at Wayne State he earned D-ll All American honors. King also played professionally from 1999-2004 in the Arena/Indoor leagues and his jersey was retired after helping lead the Quad City Steamwheelers to a 19-0 undefeated championship season in 2000.

Coach King has more than 25 years experience of helping with the development of athletes.
