
Mariners Take First Game of Final Series

The Pulaski Mariners (36-28) defeated the Bluefield Blue Jays (31-35) by the score of 4-2.
Zack Littell (5-5, 4.52 ERA) pitched seven-and-two-thirds of six hit ball. Littell allowed two runs, but only one was earned. Additionally, he struck out five Blue Jays.
Jay Baum led Pulaski with three hits and one run scored. Jose Leal went two-for-four with a triple and two runs scored.
Peter Miller (2-1, 1.35 ERA) took the ball from Littell and finished out the game for his ninth save of the year.
The Danville Braves were blown out by the Bristol Pirates 11-1, so the Mariners are now one game ahead of the Braves for second place in the Appalachian League.
