The Pulaski Mariners (5-2) lost the first game of a three-game road series against the Bluefield Blue Jays (3-4) 8-2.
Zack Littell (1-1, 8.68 ERA) started on the mound for the Mariners. He surrendered six runs on seven hits in only four innings.
Catcher Dan Jansen abused Pulaski's pitchers throughout the game; going three-for-four with a seventh inning home run.
The Mariners managed only two runs on three hits against Bluefield. ShortstopGianfranco Wawoedrove in a run with a double.Wayne TaylorandYordi Calderoncollected Pulaski's other two hits.
The Mariners will look to get back on the winning track Thursday night in Bluefield. They return home on Saturday. Students that present an honor roll worthy report card will receive free admission on Virginia529 night.
