Marc Saumier's #32 Jersey to be Retired

GATINEAU - The Olympiques announced on Monday that Marc Saumier's #32 jersey will be raise to the rafters of the Robert-Guertin on Saturday January 5, 2019, when the Acadie-Bathurst Titan will be in town.

Saumier represented his hometown team during parts of three seasons (1984-85, 1985-86, and 1987-88), tallying 73 goals, and collecting 146 assists for a total of 219 points in 131 games. His most productive season came in 1987-88, when he scored 52 goals and 162 points in 59 contests. It was also during that year that Saumier led the Olympiques to their first ever President Cup, while also being named playoff MVP after registering 48 points in 19 games.

Following his illustrious career, where he also won a League championship with the Longueuil Chevaliers in 1986-87, Saumier was inducted in the QMJHL's Hall-of-Fame in 2013.

Over the past few years, Saumier occupied the positions of scout and assistant coach with the Titan, before coming back to the Olympiques' family in August 2017 as a special advisor to the team's president and ambassador.
