Vermont Frost Heaves News Release
Barre, VT - The Manchester Millrats defeated the Vermont Frost Heaves 138 - 116 tonight to take home the 2010 Champlain Cup series. With its unique scoring format the Millrats captured a total of 11 points to finish the tournament with 24 total points. The Frost Heaves captured 2 more points tonight to finish with 10 ½ points and Quebec finished with 4 ½ points.
Manchester started a little sluggish as Vermont jumped off to a 7 - 2 lead but quickly gained a 16 - 11 advantage and never looked back. The Millrats were led in scoring by Lou Mcroskey with 25 points and 9 rebounds. The Millrats finished with 7 players in double figures with Dwight Brewington contributing 24 points.
Troy Jackson with 24 points and 7 rebounds and Brandon Ball with 22 points led Vermont. Brandon Cotton added 20 points and Matt Hall added 14.
Both teams will faceoff Sunday January 3rd in their Premier Basketball League season kickoff when Vermont travels to Manchester for a 4:05 p.m. tip. With the Premier Basketball Leagues 20 game season every game will count and should be an exciting start to the season.
