Miami Manatees News Release

Miami – Although the Manatees scored four goals, Greg LeColst's first period goal was all that was needed to ensure the third victory in a row at home with a victory over the Lakeland Loggerheads. Sean Weaver earned the Manatees first shut-out of the season, turning aside 26 shots.

LeColst ended the night with two points, earning the assist on Oak Hewer's third period goal at 7:25. Since being picked up on waivers from the Jacksonville Barracudas, Greg LeColst has scored 12 points in six games for the Manatees.

Also scoring goals in the third period were Darren Cain and Darcy Johnson. Lakeland's Carl Poissant played a strong game, turning aside 39 of 43 shots in the loss. With the win and the Macon Trax loss tonight, the Manatees extend their lead on fourth place by three points.

The Miami Manatees face off against the Alabama Slammers, Jacksonville Barracudas, Lakeland Loggerheads, Macon Trax, and Orlando Seals in the WHA2's inaugural season. All games are broadcast on www.irn.fm.
