Miami – The Manatees were propelled to their 5th win in a row by a flurry of goals in the second period. The 1202 fans in attendance witnessed the Manatees score five goals in a 3:01 span to pull ahead of the Orlando Seals 7-1 after two periods.

At 8:29 of the second, Oak Hewer got the Manatees offense rolling when Kevin Swider fed him the puck across the front of the crease for the tap-in goal. Just 15 seconds later, Darren Cain fed Dan Donnette for the fourth goal of the game.

Hewer than scored his third goal of the game at 10:26, earning him his third hat-trick this season. Hewer ended the night with four points. Cain's goal at 10:40, and Zdnek Vanc's goal at 11:30 finished the offensive outburst by the Manatees for the night.

Orlando got goals from Brad Federenko and Mark White in the third, but it wasn't enough as the Manatees extend their WHA2 best home-record to 13-1-1 in the 7-3 victory. The Manatees finish out their home-stand against the Macon Trax Sunday at 5:00.

In the first period, Kevin Swider got the Manatees on the board just thirty seconds into the first period. Hewer added his first goal of the game at 10:28.

Mark Gowan made 26 saves in his eighth win of the season, while Goverde turned aside 29 of 36 Miami shots.

The Miami Manatees face off against the Alabama Slammers, Jacksonville Barracudas, Lakeland Loggerheads, Macon Trax, and Orlando Seals in the WHA2's inaugural season. All games are broadcast on www.irn.fm.
