MOLINE, Ill. - Shawn Szydlowski broke a scoreless deadlock midway through the third period and Kristofer Westblom made 19 saves as the Fort Worth Brahmas blanked the host Quad City Mallards 1-0 Saturday night to eliminate the Mallards and win their best-of-seven opening round Central Hockey League playoff series four games to one.

Szydlowski scored the game winner at 9:59 of third when his shot from the right wing circle was deflected home.

The Mallards fell despite an often-spectacular 38 save effort from goaltender John Murray, who stopped 17 shots in the third period alone.

Mallards 2013-14 season tickets are now on sale. The Mallards offer ticket packages to meet any budget and season ticket holders also receive a host of additional benefits, including a unique season ticket holder Mallards jersey.
