Mallards Madness" Tour to Prime Fans for Opening Night

MOLINE, Ill. (October 9, 2009) - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, today announced that the team will launch the "Mallards Madness" preseason bar tour which will see Mallards Coach Frank Anzalone and Mallards players visit a series of Quad City establishments to meet area fans beginning next Monday, October 12 and leading up to the team's October 24 home opener, "Faceoff Rocks."

"This is a great chance for our players, coach and staff to spend some time with and get to know even better the fans of the Quad Cities," said Mallards Executive Vice President and General Manager Shawn Hackman. "We are especially thankful to each of the businesses that will host 'Mallards Madness' tour stops. Their willingness to welcome our team and fans has made all of this possible."

Fans will have their first chance to rub elbows with some of this year's cast of Mallards when "Mallards Madness" kicks off next Monday evening with the Flock's visit to TGI Friday's in Moline from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The tour will continue over the succeeding two weeks as the Mallards go on to make stops at Buffalo Wild Wings in Moline, Kelly's Irish Pub in Davenport, the Jersey Grille in Davenport, Tailgaters in Moline, Hooters in Davenport and 20 in Moline.

Wednesday, October 14 Buffalo Wild Wings/Moline 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Thursday, October 15 Kelly's Irish Pub/Davenport 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Monday, October 19 Jersey Grille/Davenport 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Tuesday, October 20 Tailgaters/Moline 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Wednesday, October 21 Hooters/Davenport 6:00-8:00 p.m.

A limited number of further "Mallards Madness" tour stops are yet to be announced.

The Mallards will see their first preseason action tomorrow night when they travel to Decatur to play the Bloomington PrairieThunder at 7:00 p.m. before returning to the Quad Cities for a rematch Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Quad City Sports Center in Davenport. Tickets for Sunday afternoon's contest will be available at the door beginning at 1:00 p.m. on the day of the game. All seats are just $3; ticket sales benefit the Quad City Hockey Association's youth hockey programs. **

Single-game tickets for the Mallards' inaugural IHL regular season, beginning with "Faceoff Rocks" on October 24 featuring not only the Mallards' home opener against Fort Wayne but also hard rock legends Night Ranger live in concert outside the i wireless Center, are now on sale.

Mallards tickets are available at the i wireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. through the end of the second period.

"Faceoff Rocks" kicks off a 38-game home schedule loaded with special events, unique promotions and giveaways. The Mallards and the i wireless Center have also teamed up to offer fans new Dollar Value Menus and free parking for home games all season long.

"Faceoff Rocks" festivities begin at 4:00 p.m. on October 24; admission to all events -- including the Night Ranger concert -- is free with a ticket to the Mallards' game. The first 2,500 fans to

arrive for "Faceoff Rocks" will receive a free Mallards opening night t-shirt. The Mallards will also give away free team magnet schedules and Mallards Thunderstixx. Fans taking in the Night Ranger concert will also have the chance to enjoy an outdoor beer garden and giant screen plasma television outside the i wireless Center. The fun will not stop there. "Faceoff Rocks" will also feature a Hockey Hall of Fame Fan Fest including the Hall's largest collection of Legends of Hockey travelling exhibits and memorabilia and interactive games.
