Mallards Look to Continue Hit Parade
June 1, 2016 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Madison Mallards News Release
After an impressive season opener by the top of the order hitters as well as starter Justin Watts in Battle Creek, the Mallards will look to put together some early momentum in the opening week of the Northwoods League, presented by Edvest.
Donnie Scott has tabbed lefty Patrick Boyle (Drew University) as his starter for game two of the series, who hopes to get as much run support as Watts did last evening. Stefanki, Palace, and Vierling each posted a multi-hit game, while also accounting for half of the team's runs.
Boyle pitched in 52 innings for the Rangers in 2016, striking out 56. He went 4-4 in his junior season.
On the bump for the Bombers will be the left-hander Scott Sency (Saginaw Valley), who recorded 70 strikeouts in 63.1 innings of work in 2016. He finished the season with a 4.58 ERA.
The Mallards will host their home opener on Friday, June 3rd when they take on the new Northwoods League affiliate Rockford Rivets. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm. Single-game tickets for the 2016 season are on sale NOW! Tickets are available for purchase by visiting MallardsBaseball.com, calling the Mallards ticket office at 608-246-4277, or stopping in the ticket office at 2920 N Sherman Ave.
