MOLINE, Ill. (April 1, 2010) - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, today announced that the Mallards have signed left wing Aaron Spotts, have placed right wing Terry Harrison on injured reserve and have waived right wing Ryan Fultz.
Spotts, 24, joins the Mallards after scoring ten goals and totaling 23 points in 28 games as a senior while helping Duluth's College of St. Scholastica to the first NCAA Division III tournament berth in school history. The Spokane native scored 22 times and totaled 45 points in 90 career collegiate games. The 6' 1", 205-pound Spotts played three years of junior hockey with the Cowichan Valley Capitals of the British Columbia Hockey League before attending St. Scholastica. Spotts will wear number six for the Mallards. Per team policy, no contract terms were announced.
Harrison scored eight goals and totaled 23 points in 41 games this season before being placed on I.R.
Fultz recorded four goals and 17 points while also playing 41 games for the Mallards.
The Mallards return to action tomorrow night in Port Huron against the Icehawks. The Mallards are next in action on home ice next Thursday night, April 8, against the Bloomington PrairieThunder at 7:05 P.M.
