Salvation Army Bell Ringing

The entire Mallards team took part in bell ringing for the Salvation Army Tuesday at both NorthPark and SouthPark Malls. The Red Kettle Christmas Campaign enables the Salvation Army to provide food, toys and clothing to over 6 million people throughout the holiday season and assists more than 34 million Americans recover from disasters nationwide all year long. The Mallards are proud to support such a worthy cause at this special time of year.

Dispatch Good Fellow and Argus Santa Fund Nights

The Mallards' home games on both December 17 and December 18 will help support the Dispatch Good Fellow and Argus Santa holiday fund. $1 from every ticket purchased at the box office for the two games will be donated to the holiday fund, which marks 103 years of helping needy Quad Cities area families and seniors have a brighter holiday season.

Student Mentoring

In the efforts of mentoring local students, the Mallards front office continues to host local high schoolers looking to learn about the sports industry. Bettendorf High School senior Travis St. Ores spent the last two months shadowing team president Chris Presson and other members of the Mallards front office staff. "Allowing local students the opportunity to job shadow and experience working in the sports industry is a huge learning experience for them. Not only do we enjoy having students with us, but it is a great educational opportunity for them as well," said Presson.

Upcoming Events

Thursday, December 16- Arsenal After-School Program: Mallards Tyler Townsend and Joel Gasper will visit with children in the Rock Island Arsenal's after-school program to share about hockey, answer questions and play games.

Tuesday, December 21- Terrace Bluff Head Start: Zac Pearson and team captain Tyler Kindle will join children at Terrace Bluff Head Start Preschool in Davenport. They will read a book and visit with children to celebrate the holidays.

Tuesday, December 21- Thomas Jefferson After-School Program: Tyler Shelast and Paul Kelly will visit the children in Thomas Jefferson Elementary's after-school program Tuesday afternoon to talk about the importance of hard work, academics and making good choices.

Looking Ahead

The Mallards look forward to a busy schedule between now and the end of the year. The team will host five home games yet in December. The Mallards kick off action this weekend with home games Friday, December 17 against the Fort Wayne Komets and Saturday, December 18 against the Evansville IceMen. Both games begin at 7:05 pm at the i wireless Center. The first 1,000 fans ages 12 and under arriving to Friday and Saturday's games this weekend will receive free Mallards equipment bags brought to you by CBS 4, B100, i wireless and the Dispatch Argus.
