Quad City Mallards News Release
MOLINE, Ill. (October 28, 2009) - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, today announced that this Friday night at 7:00 the Mallards will not only take on the Flint Generals at the i wireless Center but also host the World's Largest Indoor Trick-or-Treat and welcome costumed children who are accompanied by a ticketed adult to the game free of charge, courtesy of Genesis Sports Medicine, Hardee's and KWQC-TV6. In addition, Friday night will also see the first 1,000 fans through the doors for the game receive a free Genesis official game puck.
Children will be able to trick-or-treat throughout the i wireless Center as treats will be distributed at each section of the arena- any inclement weather outdoors will do nothing to dampen the Halloween festivities inside the building. Costumed kids will also be welcomed onto the ice for a costume parade that will be shown live on the iwC video board.**
"Friday night should be a great deal of fun for families," said Mallards Executive Vice President and General Manager Shawn Hackman. "The chance for kids in costume accompanied by a paying adult to enjoy the Mallards' game for free, trick-or-treat throughout the i wireless Center without worrying about potential rain or bad weather outside and take advantage of our Genesis Official Game Puck Giveaway makes for quite an evening and is a great way cap off Mallards Opening Week. We are very thankful to Genesis Sports Medicine, Hardee's and KWQC-TV6 for making it possible for us to make this free ticket offer."
Free tickets will be available at the i wireless Center box office for children in costume who are accompanied by an adult who purchases a ticket.
1,000 fans attending the game will walk out of the i wireless Center with not only a bag full of treats but also with another keepsake- an official Mallards inaugural season game puck, provided by Genesis Sports Medicine.
The Mallards' Opening Week has kicked off a 38-game home schedule loaded with special events, unique promotions and giveaways. Mallards tickets are available at the i wireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. through the end of the second period.
