Quad City Mallards News Release

MOLINE, Ill. (August 20, 2009) - The Quad City Mallards of the AA+ International Hockey League announced today that Sue Matje of Eldridge, Iowa, has won the team's drawing for a trip for two to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto and Mary J. DeBrouwer of Silvis, Illinois, is the lucky winner of a trip for two to the 2010 Daytona 500 raffled off by the Mallards, according to Mallards Executive Vice President and General Manager Shawn Hackman.

Matje's name was pulled from among the existing and new Mallards season ticket holders who attended the team's "Pick Your Seat" event at the i wireless Center last week. DeBrouwer, also a Mallards season ticket holder, won a raffle among those who entered to win the Daytona 500 trip earlier this summer. Both winners will receive free airfare for two and two nights' hotel stay at their respective destinations.

"We're thrilled for both Sue and Mary," said Mallards Executive Vice President and General Manager Shawn Hackman. "These are obviously two great destinations and awarding these prizes is something we're very happy we had the chance to do. This is the 'Year of the Fan' for the Mallards and there are going to be even more exciting promotions and giveaways like these all season long."

Matje will have the opportunity to see a bit of Quad City hockey history at the Hockey Hall of Fame- an exhibit recognizing the Mallards is among those on display at the hall. The Mallards earned their spot in the sport's shrine in 2001 by becoming the first team in the history of professional hockey to win 50 or more games in five straight seasons. The Mallards would go on to make it six straight 50-plus victory campaigns the following year.

"Winning this trip was a great surprise. My husband and myself are thrilled to be able to go see some of our old Mallard players and teams recognized in the Hall of Fame," said Matje. "When the Mallards first came to town we got hooked on hockey. Getting to know these guys is really fun and we can't wait to see this new Mallards team hit the ice."

The Daytona 500 is NASCAR's biggest, richest and most prestigious race. 43 of the best stock car racers in the world will stake center stage on February 14, 2010 for the next edition of "The Great American Race."

"I'm really surprised I won this trip and I'm looking forward to the trip down there- hopefully we won't miss any hockey games!" said DeBrouwer. "We're really excited that the Mallards are coming back. We've had season tickets since their second year and we've been coming ever since."

The Mallards' "QUACK PACK" full season ticket plans, which include the ICE ROW Cold Pass Seats ($25-Row 1), Platinum Seats ($15, walk up $18), End Seats ($13, walk up $16), Upper Platinum ($11, walk up $13), and Upper End Seats ($9, walk up $11), encompass all 38 regular season home games as well as discounts on all Mallards home playoff games. As a QUACK PACK member, fans save 20% off face value of the walk up ticket price. With a full season plan for every household budget starting as low as $342, QUACK PACK members select exclusively from the best seats in i wireless Center. For the ultimate in financial convenience, season ticket holders may choose the flexible and secure "EZ-Pay" Plan, which allows for monthly no-interest payments through March of 2010. Season ticket holders receive many other exclusive benefits, including one (1) team-autographed replica jersey with the purchase of four (4) full season Platinum Tickets, VIP privileges, the Buddy Plan, VIP-only Fantasy Camp, Meet the Team events, inside information, merchandise discounts, discounted single game tickets, and an exclusive season ticket holder gift.

The Mallards are the first team in the history of professional hockey to offer the fan an experience like no other, the ICE ROW Cold Pass. Designated as the first two rows closest to the ice, ICE ROW ticket holders see, feel, and live all the high-intensity game action with all the access usually reserved for only a select few. ICE ROW Cold Pass ticket holders are granted entry into the arena 30 minutes prior to walk up general public admissions and are treated to Mallards locker room and hockey operations access up to 30 minutes before the game to hear coach's comments and live the behind-the-scenes experience.
