MAINEiacs win fourth straight in dominant fashion 6-2 over the Rimouski Oceanic

Lewiston, ME - The Lewiston MAINEiacs continue to fire on all cylinders and walked away with a 6-2 pounding over the Rimouski Oceanic. Lewiston's 19-year Marc-André Daneau earned the first star honors with his first QMJHL hat trick!

Lewiston came to play from the opening face-off, jumping out to an early 3-0 lead in the first period. Faubert opened the scoring with a power play goal, his 22nd on the season which was followed just 15 seconds later as Daneau notched his first of 3 on the night, also a power play goal. Just a few minutes later, Chad Denny and Stefan Chaput would assist as Daneau potted another one, just 6 minutes and 45 seconds into the game.

In the second, Rimouski finally got on the board as Oliver Fortier would tally his 19th on the year in the opening seconds of the period. Lewiston would reply as Stefano Giliati would pot a short-handed marker with the help of Chaput. After a relatively smooth flowing game in the first, tempers would begin to flare in the second, as the penalties would be numerous from this point forward.

In the final frame, Jakub Bundil scored his 4th on the season from Piché and Castonguay. Daneau would complete the hat trick with his 17th on the year on the power play from Chaput (3rd point of the night) and Piché. Rimouski would convert a goal mouth scramble with Fortier getting credit on the goal, but that would be all from the Oceanic on this night.

Rimouski's Tommy Legault would take the loss for the Oceanic as Jonathan Bernier recorded another win for Lewiston.
