Maineiacs Take Two Points From Saint John With 3-2 Victory
March 4, 2008 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release
Lewiston, ME - The Lewiston MAINEiacs seem to excel playing the teams of the upper echelon in the league. Another playoff atmosphere was generated by a very physical contest.
Jonathan Bernier was stellar again in goal for the MAINEiacs making 34 saves to earn the game's first star. Stefan Chaput scored his 29th while Chris Tutalo notched his 15th. But the biggest goal of the game came from Lucas Labelle with just over 2 minutes remaining to play restoring the MAINEiacs 2-goal lead.
In what has become routine with the meeting of these two teams, tonight's game had its fair share of punishing hits, with a vast majority of them delivered by MAINEiacs big defenseman Denis Reul.
Lewiston plays its final 2 home games of the regular season this weekend, Friday and Sunday, both against the St. John's Fog Devils.
