
Bernard, Paquette Suspended; Teams Fined

BOUCHERVILLE, Tuesday, March 4, 2008 - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's disciplinary committee today imposed one-game suspensions to both Ashton Bernard of the Shawinigan Cataractes and Danick Paquette of the Lewiston MAINEiacs following their pre-game warm-up altercation on Sunday.
Moreover, both organizations received $1,000 fines.
The decision was rendered after reviewing the videotape of the incident and consulting all concerned parties. The suspensions are in effect as of today.
In accordance with the QMJHL policy in the matter of disciplinary sanctions, the disciplinary committee will not be available for further comment.
