Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release
Lewiston, ME - A win is a win is a win. Despite a sloppy effort on both sides, Lewiston found a way to win and will gladly take the 2 points as they keep pace with the best in the league. MAINEiacs 18-year old Stefan Chaput opened the scoring in the first period on a great feed from Marc-Andre Daneau and Marc-Andre Crete.
Halifax equaled the score in the 2nd as Cory Pridham scored his 11th on the season on the powerplay. Simon Courcelles scored what would be the game winner with the help of Korenko and Denny with the man advantage. Prior to the end of the middle frame, 20-year old Pier-Luc Faubert scored his 12 on the season from Sebastien Piché.
The third would remain scoreless until Stefan Chaput would tally his second of the game into an empty net with 32 seconds remaining to play. For the first time in countless games, Lewiston was outshot by a wide margin, only registering 20 shots on goal.
